Fudge cake or cookies
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup flour
- ½ cup pecans
- ½ teaspoon B.P.
- ½ stick butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 squares unsweetened chocolate
Beat the whole eggs in mixing bowl. Add sugar. Add butter, melted with unsweetened chocolate. Stir in flour, B.P., and salt. Add vanilla and nuts. Turn into baking pan lined with waxed paper and bake at (325º F) for 25 minutes or until batter will spring back when tested with the touch of the finger.
Remove from oven, let stand 10 minutes and cut in squares.
Orange doughnuts
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 eggs beaten
- ⅔ cup orange juice
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- 4 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon grated orange
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons melted fat
- 4 teaspoons B.P.
Beat eggs and add sugar, mixing well. Add rest of ingredients, mixing lightly. Role out soft dough on floured board until dough is ¼ inch thick. Cut out the doughnuts and fry in deep hot fat until well browned. Cool. When served dust with granulated sugar.
