Drop cookies
- 1.2 cup butter
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ cup flour
- 1 ½ teaspoon B.P.
- ½ cup milk
- ¾ cup brown sugar, packed tight
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup Grape Nut flakes
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- pinch salt
Ice box cookies
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 ½ cup Crisco
- 3 eggs
- 5 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 cup nuts
Make 3 rolls and roll in wax paper and put in icebox.

Orange tea cookies
- ½ cup butter
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- ⅓ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon each of orange, lemon rind grated
Glaze top with egg white. Put nots on top. Bake in oven (350ºF)
Filled cookies
- ½ cup Crisco
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ cup milk
- 3 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons B.P.
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Filling for cookies
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 cup hot water
- 1 cup raisins or figs chopped fine
- 1 tablespoon flour
Cook until thick and cool.
