- 2 cups B. sugar
- ½ cups milk
- ½ cup butter
- Chocolate to color
Cook until thick, spread on cake while warm
Caramel #8, for Irish potato cake
- 2 cup B. sugar
- 1 cup w. sugar
- ½ cup milk
- ½ cup butter
- 1 cup hot water
Boil sugar and water together until it ropes. Add milk and butter and cook 5 or 10 minutes longer.
#9 (Mrs Ramsauer) (pineapple filling)
- 1 cup sugar
- 4 egg yolks
- ⅓ cup butter
- ½ lemon
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 10¢ can pineapple
- 1 can coconut
Cook in double boiler thoroughly.
Lemon cheese filling
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 eggs
- pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon flour or cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon B.P.
- Juice 2 lemons
- Rind 2 lemons
Cook in double boiler until thick.
Chocolate syrup
- 1 cup w sugar
- 1 cup b sugar
- 1 cup water or milk
- 2 tablespoons cocoa
- 2 tablespoons flour or cornstarch
