Glazed baked apples
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- ½ cup water
- ¼ cup red cinnamon candies
- ⅔ cup crushed pineapple
- 6 medium sized cooking apples
Core apples and remove peel from top one third way down. Combine sugar, water, and candies and cook until sugar and candies are dissolved, then fill centers of apples with crushed pineapple and arrange in a buttered baking dish. Bake in a moderate hot oven (375ºF) until done, basting frequently with the red syrup.
Fruit salad
- 2 cups grapefruit sections
- 2 cups orange sections
- 1 ½ cup pitted cherries
- 1 ½ cup fresh raspberries
- 1 avocado sliced
- Juice of ½ lemon
- French dressing and lettuce
Prepare fruit and chill. Slice avocado just before using and dip in lemon juice. Arrange fruits in crystal bowl on lettuce. Serve with French dressing.
