Angel food cake
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 1/2 cup sifted sugar
- 1 1/4 cup egg whites
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/4 teaspoon C. tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
Add 1/2 the sugar to the flour and sift 4 times. Beat eggs and salt till foaming and add C. tartar and beat till stiff but not dry. Add the remaining sugar then sprinkle flour over little at a time till all is used. Add flavor. Bake in oven 325 ºF 1 hour or until done.
Pound cake (Mrs. Logan)
- 10 eggs
- 2 cups soft butter
- 3 1/2 cups sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon lemon
- pinch salt
Cream butter and sugar real good and beat in eggs one at a time. Don’t use any B.P. or milk or water. 2 hours 250 ºF.

- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup w. sugar
- 1 cup b. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups stewed apples
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 10¢ package dates
- 1 cup pecans
- 1 cup black walnuts
- 1 cup coconut
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 eggs
